If there?s a time of the year when everyone makes an effort not to eat meat, it?s the Lenten Season. And, since the occasion is coming to town, it is better to be prepared with recipes that will keep you going for the entire week.
Vegetables are so hard to feed to children. And there are also some adults who are not very fond of eating veggies. And so to make the Lenten Season a meat-free but stress-free event, here are some recipes that you might want to try?
Blue Cabbage Rolls. Ingredients: 12 lg Steamed cabbage leaves, 1 cup Blue Cornmeal, 1/2 cup Chopped green onions, 1/2 cup Whole corn, 1/4 tbsp Powdered garlic, 1/4 tbsp Thyme, 1/4 tbsp Oregano coach purses outlet , 1 cup Unseasoned tomato sauce, 2 cups Water, 1 cup Grated cheese Procedures: Steam the cabbage leaves. While waiting for the cabbage, mix remaining ingredients except cheese in a sauce pan and stir with a wire whisk over medium heat. Do this until mixture is very thick. Be cautious to keep mixture stirred thoroughly. Roll 1 tablespoon mixture in each cabbage leaf. Place in baking dish and top with cheese. Bake for 10 minutes at 300 F. Serve.
Bay Roasted Carrots. Ingredients: 3 lb Carrots; peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces, Vegetable oil, 4 Bay leaves, Mild honey; optional, Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper Procedures: Pre-heat the oven to 400. Toss the carrots lightly in vegetable oil for coating. Add salt and pepper to taste. Place the carrots in a baking dish. Add the bay leaves. Bake in the heated oven until fork tender, 45 to 60 minutes. Remove the bay leaves before serving. For added sweetness, drizzle with a bit of mild honey while hot. Serve.
Bean Casserole. Ingredients: 1 can French style green beans, 1 can Cream of celery soup, 1 can Chow mein vegetables, 1 can French fried onions, 1/4 tbsp Salt, 1/2 cup Chopped almonds Procedures: Drain the green beans and chow mein vegetables. Get a casserole dish and mix all ingredients then cover, saving some French fried onions. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove cover cheap coach purses , add onions and bake 10 minutes more. Serve.
Well, eating and cooking vegetables could be fun too as long as you do it with love and the company of some people you love. But if you have no time to cook cheap five fingers , just order home delivery. Enjoy the week!
