Napolitano: Terrorists Cross U.S.-Mexico Border ?From Time to Time?

(CNSNews.com) -- Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told lawmakers last week that ?from time to time? terrorists enter the United States from Mexico with the intent to inflict harm on Americans.

She made that revelation during a July 25 House Homeland Security Committee hearing entitled, ?Understanding the Homeland Threat Landscape.?

At the hearing, freshman Rep. Ron Barber (D-Ariz.), who replaced Gabrielle Giffords, asked Napolitano, ?As you know, Madam Secretary, there have been anecdotal reports about material evidence of the presence of terrorists along our southern border. My question is, is there any credible evidence that these reports are accurate and that terrorists are, in fact, crossing our southern border with the intent to do harm to the American people??

Napolitano said, ?With respect, there have been -- and the Ababziar (sp?) matter would be one I would refer to that's currently being adjudicated in the criminal courts -- from time to time, and we are constantly working against different and evolving?threats?involving various terrorist groups and various ways they may seek to enter the country.?

?What I can tell you, however, is that the -- that southern border, the U.S.-Mexico border -- is heavily, heavily staffed at record amounts of manpower, materiel, infrastructure and the like, and we are constantly making sure we're doing all we can to make that border as safe as possible,? she said.

Each year, the U.S. Border Patrol, a component of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), apprehends thousands of illegal aliens along the southwest border who are classified as ?other than Mexican? (OTM).

Among the OTMs are illegal aliens from countries such as Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, and Yemen that have officially been linked to terrorism by the U.S. government.

CNSNews.com reported that in fiscal year 2011 (Oct. 1, 2010 thru Sept. 30, 2011), Border Patrol apprehended 255 illegal aliens from terrorism-linked countried along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Government officials in the United States have provided few details about the number of actual terrorists who are caught trying to cross the southwest border.

However, there have been criminal court cases of terrorists crossing into the United States from Mexico.

In March 2010, a federal court in San Antonio, Texas indicted Ahmed Muhammed Dhakane, for lying on his asylum application about his link to two organizations ? al-Barakat and Al-Ittihad Islami -- designated by the U.S. government as Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs).

According to the indictment, Dhakane also failed to reveal to U.S. authorities that he ran a large-scale human smuggling operation out of Brazil from 2006 to 2008. He was accused of successfully smuggling hundreds of aliens into America, including some Somalis affiliated with terrorist groups. Dhakane was sentenced to 10 years in prison in April 2011.

Furthermore, an August 2009 audit by the Government Accountability Office focused on Customs and Border Protection (CBP) checkpoints and found that in fiscal 2008, CBP, a component of DHS, reported ?there were three individuals encountered by the Border Patrol at southwest border checkpoints who were identified as persons linked to terrorism.?

In April 2010, CNSNews.com reported? that FBI Director Robert Mueller told the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, ?In Detroit, Mahmoud Youssef Kourani was indicted in the Eastern District of Michigan on one count of conspiracy to provide material support to Hezbollah. ? Kourani was already in custody for entering the country illegally through Mexico and was involved in fundraising activities on behalf of Hezbollah.?

Kourani pleaded guilty and was sentenced in June 2005 after prosecutors found that he was a fighter, recruiter, and fundraiser for Hezbollah, which has been officially designated as a terrorist group by the U.S. government.

In an interview with the El Paso Times published in August 2007, Mike McConnell, then-director of national intelligence, echoing what Napolitano told lawmakers last week, said there are ?some? terrorists coming across the southwest border, but apparently ?not in great numbers,? CNSNews.com?s April 2010 report added.

Ye Shiwen's Olympic swim gold 'not impossible'

Ye Shiwen's world record in the women's 400 metres Olympic individual medley has been called "unbelievable" ? but it may just be exceptional. Ye, age 16, swam the distance in 4 minutes 28.43 seconds, covering the last 50 metres 0.17 seconds faster than US gold medalist Ryan Lochte did in the men's event, knocking 5 seconds off her best time in the process.

"I wouldn't typically expect a female swimmer to out-swim a male swimmer at Olympic level, unless something had gone wrong for the male," says sports physiologist Mitch Lomax of the University of Portsmouth, UK. "But I wouldn't say that it's physiologically impossible."

John Leonard of the World Swimming Coaches Association called Ye's performance "unbelievable", but Ye and the Chinese team have denied allegations of doping. All Olympic medalists are drug-tested. An extraordinary performance by an individual athlete could trigger extra tests, but the Olympic anti-doping lab, based in Harlow, outside London, would not confirm or deny whether these tests had been carried out for Ye. The British Olympic Association said Ye was "clean".

Kevin Moran, a former competitive swimmer and lecturer in health at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, says that elite athletes normally experience the law of diminishing returns. "Leaps in performance at the lower end of the performance scale are normal," he says. But at the top end of elite performance, they are "unexpected".

More heart

"One of the main physiological differences between men and women, related to endurance sport, is that women generally have relatively smaller hearts," says physiologist Andrew Jones of the University of Exeter, UK. On top of this men produce more of the sex hormone testosterone, which acts like a natural doping agent, promoting haemoglobin production so the blood can carry more oxygen. The maximum amount of oxygen that can reach a woman's muscles is, on average, lower than that for a man. Less oxygen means less energy.

John Brewer of UK Anti-Doping and Director of Sport at the University of Bedfordshire, says that it should not be considered too surprising when an exceptional athlete emerges from a population the size of China's. He also points out that samples from athletes are stored for eight years after each Olympics. Athletes who are later found to have used illegal drugs can be disqualified.

The World Anti-Doping Agency has acknowledged that their methods of testing lag behind the drugs used by athletes.

Jackson to make 'The Hobbit' into a trilogy

BURBANK, Calif. (AP) ? Peter Jackson is adding a third film to what was planned to be the two-part series "The Hobbit."

The director of the Oscar-winning "The Lord of the Rings" movies said Monday that after viewing a cut of the first film and part of the second that there was room for a third.

Jackson says in a statement that a lot of J.R.R. Tolkien's tale of Bilbo Baggins would remain untold if a third film wasn't made. The films are set in the fictional world of Middle-earth 60 years before "The Lord of the Rings."

"We recognized that the richness of the story of 'The Hobbit,' as well as some of the related material in the appendices of 'The Lord of the Rings,' gave rise to a simple question: do we tell more of the tale?" Jackson said in a statement. "And the answer from our perspective as filmmakers and fans was an unreserved 'yes.' "

"We know how much of the tale of Bilbo Baggins, the Dwarves of Erebor, the rise of the Necromancer, and the Battle of Dol Guldur would remain untold if we did not fully realize this complex and wonderful adventure," he said.

Warner Bros. and MGM will continue their partnership to make the trilogy.

The first film, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," hits theaters Dec. 14, while the second, "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" is set for release on Dec. 13, 2013.

The third film will come out in the summer of 2014.

All three movies are being shot in digital 3-D in New Zealand, which is home to Jackson's Weta Digital special effects house. Principal photography recently finished on the first two films.

Jackson, his wife Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens and Guillermo del Toro are listed as co-writers of the first two films.

London 2012: Mystery woman gate-crashed team India at opening ceremonies

LONDON?A mysterious woman in red has caused an international incident at the London Olympics.

Indian officials are mystified ? and miffed ? after an unknown young woman managed to march with the country?s athletes and officials during the opening ceremony Friday night.

Games organizers on Sunday downplayed security concerns around the unscripted moment, saying the interloper was a ceremony cast member and had screened before entering the Olympic Park.

Images from Friday?s ceremony showed a young woman in turquoise jeans and a red jacket marching alongside Indian flag bearer Sushil Kumar at the head of the delegation of 40 athletes in bright yellow and navy blue.

TOPIC: Olympics 2012

?We are totally dazed,? Indian press atttache Harpal Singh Bedi said Sunday. ?How can a person without any accreditation walk past??

Indian officials said they had no idea who the woman was. The country?s Deccan Chronicle newspaper said she was likely Madhura Nagendra, a graduate student from the southern city of Bangalore who had been living in London.

The newspaper said she had displayed her Olympic passes on her Facebook page, which used the name Madhura Honey. It said the page was later deactivated.

The case of the ceremony?s mystery woman dominated Indian media?s coverage of the opening of the games.

?Who?s That Girl?? asked the front page of The Hindustan Times.

?Leaky London: Unaccounted presence in march past,? said a headline in the Times of India. The newspaper said the mystery woman had ?brazenly gatecrashed the party, raising security concerns and adding to the anger over India?s blink-and-miss appearance on global TV screens.?

Bedi said India?s acting chef de mission, P.K.M. Raja, had sent games organizers an official letter of complaint about the intrusion.

?I think this is definitely a security lapse,? Bedi said. ?You cannot have flawless security everywhere, but this is not flawless.?

But London organizing chief Sebastian Coe insisted the woman had not posed a threat to the ceremony. He told reporters she was ?a cast member who clearly got slightly over-excited.?

Some 10,000 volunteers performed alongside professional musicians, actors and dancers in director Danny Boyle?s ceremony.

Coe stressed the woman had been screened to get into Olympic Stadium so there had been no security breach.

?Don?t run away with the idea that she walked in off the street,? Coe said.

Coe said games officials ?will have our own discussions? about the incident.

Samsung announces UK availability for Galaxy Beam

Android Central

It's been more than five months since we first saw the Samsung Galaxy Beam at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and now it looks like the phone/projector hybrid is set to officially make its way to the UK. A Samsung press release indicates that the Beam is available in Britain from today, though no specific retailers, networks or price points are mentioned. Pre-order prices have suggested a fairly hefty £454.80 including VAT, or £379 (~$600) excluding VAT to buy the Beam outright.

The reason you might pay that much is the Galaxy Beam's built-in pico projector, which allows you to fire images up to 50 feet away from the device, depending on various factors like ambient lighting. Other specs are relatively run-of-the-mill -- a 1GHz dual-core CPU, a 4-inch WVGA display, 5MP camera and Android 2.3 Gingerbread (yeah, we know) backed up by Samsung's TouchWiz software. So there are certainly better deals to be had elsewhere for mainstream buyers, but if you want a portable image projector that ties into your smartphone, this is, for the moment, the only way you'll be able to get it.

We've got the full spec sheet and today's press release after the break.

BITTER TWEET

Politicians beware: those tweets can land you in hot water with your boss.

Prime Minister David Cameron has lambasted a lawmaker in his own Conservative Party. Aidan Burley called the Olympic opening ceremony "multicultural leftie crap."

"I did once say something about people who use Twitter, particularly politicians, and I think in this case I was absolutely spot on," Cameron told the BBC on Monday. "It was an idiotic thing to say."

Burley, who was forced to quit as a ministerial aide after attending a Nazi-themed bachelor party last year, made the tweet during the show on Friday: "The most leftie opening ceremony I have ever seen - more than Beijing, the capital of a communist state! Welfare tribute next?"

Later, he added: "Thank God the athletes have arrived! Now we can move on from leftie multicultural crap. Bring back red arrows (sic), Shakespeare and the Stones!"

WATER RINGS

Eleven meters high and 24 meters long, they dominate the view from the south bank of the River Thames in central London. "It is kind of showy," says Shanice Collins, 19, from Birmingham.

The structure sits on a barge in the middle of the river where throngs of tourists walk past every day, making it very difficult for anyone to ignore the fact that the Olympics are in town.

Shanice thinks they are a good thing, though. She seems especially worried about London's recent bad press. "If it makes the city look good and it doesn't give us that bad riot mentality that everyone thinks we have, then I think it is a good thing."

CHINA DIVING GOLD

Yuan Cao and Yanquan Zhang of China are the gold medal winners in the men's synchronized 10-meter dive.

The Chinese trailed the hometown Brits after three dives, but executed nearly flawlessly in the second half of the event. The partisan crowd was hopeful to see the hometown team of Thomas Daley and Peter Waterfield keep the gold in London. They drilled their first three, leading at the halfway point while being serenaded to chants of "GB! GB! GB!"

But a rough fourth dive score of 71.28 opened the door for China. The crowd even booed the judges for giving their boys an 87.69 on their fifth dive. Mexico took the silver and the American team of Nicholas McCrory and David Boudia finished with the bronze. Britain finished fourth.

Almatbouli won a 19-7 decision over Nigeria's Lukmon Lawal at ExCel on Wednesday, thrilling the small delegation of Jordanian athletes and fans cheering him on and singing to him.

He is the second of five boxing brothers from Baqa'a, a Palestinian refugee camp outside Amman. Somber after his workmanlike victory, he credited God and his Cuban coach. Still, the wolf tattoo on his right bicep suggests Almatbouli might have a little more flair in store for his next fight.

MOM WATCHES, ZARA RIDES

A good time for Zara Phillips on the difficult and dangerous cross-country portion of her first Olympic equestrian eventing competition. The 31-year-old Phillips, Queen Elizabeth II's granddaughter, finished well under the pace time with 9 minutes 55.11 seconds, cheered on wildly by thousands of fans ? some of them royal ? in London's oldest royal park.

Princes William and Harry watched her from the main equestrian arena, joined by William's wife, Kate, and Camilla, the wife of Prince Charles. Seated alongside them were Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, the daughters of Prince Andrew. Phillips' mother, Princess Anne, watched from the grounds of the twisty, hilly 5.7-kilometer course dotted with 28 obstacles.

SPARTACUS' DEFENSE

Fabian Cancellara is planning to defend his time-trial gold medal.

The man known as "Spartacus" had his Olympic future thrown into doubt when he crashed while trying to navigate a right turn late in Saturday's road race. Cancellara had broken his collarbone earlier this year at the Tour of Flanders, and was worried that he'd done it again.

He was taken for X-rays that turned out negative, and the four-time world champion said Monday that he's planning to race through the pain Wednesday at Hampton Court Palace.

"I feel better with every hour passing," he says. "I have to be positive, otherwise I would have been home already. I'm a hard man."

Swiss team doctor Andreas Goesele likened the spill to being in a "car crash, with a whiplash injury." He also said that Cancellara would have to ride through pain because the World Anti-Doping Agency's list of prohibited substances limits what he can prescribe.

Cancellara remains one of the favorites for the race, along with reigning world champion Tony Martin of Germany and Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins of Britain.

DIVING DERRING-DO

The Brits are still searching for that first gold medal of the games, and the partisan crowd at the Aquatic Center is trying to will their boys to one in the men's synchronized 10-meter dive.

Thomas Daley and Peter Waterfield are putting on quite a show, too.

The arena roars every time the step out on to the platform, and they have responded with three tremendous dives to surge into the lead at the halfway point.

They're in the seventh position of eight, and just ripped a pair of back 3 1/2 somersault tucks that scored 91.08.

They are just in front of China and the Germany with three dives to go.

The decibel level in the weightlifting arena reached new heights as 18-year-old Zoe Smith set a British clean and jerk record of 121 kilograms in the "B'' session of the women's 58-kilogram category on Monday. She also went for a British record in the snatch, but tensed up and missed.

"At first I was getting used to the fact that there were that many people and maybe that's why I sort of messed up the snatches a little bit," Smith says. "I think I was just overwhelmed."

Smith must now wait for the higher-ranked lifters in the "A'' group to compete to find out where she places, though her 211-kilogram total is unlikely to be enough for a medal.

Cintron's headgear popped off in the middle of an exchange during his fight with Botswana's Oteng Oteng, giving fans an extra look. He then won a 14-12 decision over Oteng, ensuring the mullet will live to fight another day.

SECURITY RIVALRY

All's fair in love, war and the Olympics? Not quite.

He said the circumstances of the fracas weren't clear, including whether the guard was Muslim. G4S came under fire this month after admitting a shortfall of security guards for the Olympics ? an admission that forced the military to provide thousands of extra military personnel.

Mutiny Gold receives first US$4m from Credit Suisse, Project ...

Pdf Tuesday, July 31, 2012 by John Phillips

(ASX: MYG) has now received a US$4 million first deposit on a non-interest bearing Commercial Agreement.

Importantly - the deposit is intended as the precursor to a wider Agreement which will supplement the project finance requirements for the development of the company?s high grade Deflector Gold Copper Deposit.

The impact for Mutiny is that the terms of the Agreement enables the company to continue escalating its project development - whilst concluding the ongoing Project Finance arrangements with Credit Suisse and other financial institutions.

Mutiny and Credit Suisse are now in negotiations for the Project Finance Loan for Deflector.

John Greeve, managing director of Mutiny, commented on the funding: ?This is a very positive move for Mutiny, as it moves to complete the financial platform for funding the development and mine operations at Deflector.

"This initial deposit is completely in line with our stated objective to minimise overly dilutive equity issues while progressing Deflector. The company continues to make extensive strides towards the total commercial funding package.?

Credit Suisse and Mutiny have already entered into an $11 million loan which enabled Mutiny to complete the acquisition of Deflector, conduct an extensive 15,000 metre drill program and advance its Feasibility Studies.

Music review: James Carter is sublime at the Dakota - TwinCities.com

Listening to 43-year-old saxophone phenom James Carter, you get the impression that he can play anything he wants on his instrument, which depending on the moment, might be tenor, alto or soprano saxophone, or flute. Carter, who returned to the Dakota jazz club Sunday night, doesn't limit himself to any particular corner of the jazz universe.

He plays all kinds: postbop, modern, "free" jazz, and even the blues and gospel-inflected style most often heard in black communities. The later is the main focus of his organ trio, which is comprised of three musicians who undoubtedly heard plenty of blues, gospel and "soul jazz" growing up in Detroit, especially at Baker's Keyboard Lounge, a longtime Motor City house of good times and finishing school for young jazz hotshots.

Carter has had a long-standing relationship with the group's 74-year old drummer and vocalist, Leonard King, who has been one of Carter's musical mentors for years. Hammond B-3 player Gerard Gibbs honed his chops on the R&B circuit; his playing has been compared to the driving style of the late Richard "Groove" Holmes.

The group played several tunes from their enjoyable, 2011 CD "At the Crossroads," which landed on a number of "best of the year" lists.

Carter kicked things off with an octave-leaping workout on soprano sax, on "Pour Que Ma Vie Demeure," a ballad the great gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt wrote back in the 1950s but never recorded. Showing his mastery of the instrument, the

animated Carter played some potentially glass-shattering altissimo (above the scale) riffs, along with some expressive, vocal-like tones.

Gibbs started the next piece, the late Jack McDuff's version of "Walkin' the Dog," in dramatic fashion, alternating churchy organ chords with some comedic, staccato keyboard hammering, and some unexpected stops and starts which amused his bandmates.

Carter played that tune on alto sax, again showing his propensity for testing the upper limits of the horn.

King got the tune rolling like a train going downhill, playing the venerable "double shuffle" beat. He's a great shuffle drummer, which is sometimes an underappreciated skill in the jazz world, but one which always gets audiences moving.

Carter and Gibbs did some call-and-response riff-trading before taking the tune out with some unison riffing.

With Carter on tenor, the band sailed through the Miles Davis-Charlie Parker bebop anthem "Milestones," with King -- who is also a world-class jazz vocalist -- scatting the melody along with the sax.

Then, with Carter on flute, King took the audience to church, singing Duke Ellington's spiritual ballad "Come Sunday," in a mellow baritone.

After that, Carter broke into a bouncy rendition of "Down By the Riverside," showing his ability to wring more melodic twists and turns out of a tune than anyone since Sonny Rollins.

Credit Suisse scales back Mideast private banking research: sources

DUBAI (Reuters) - Credit Suisse has moved the head of its Middle East private banking equity research division to Geneva, two sources told Reuters on Sunday, the latest European bank to scale back research roles in the region.

Kamran Butt will support private banking sales in Switzerland with market research after spending six years in Dubai, two people familiar with the matter said.

"Other analysts from outside the Middle East will be covering the local market here," one source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the matter is not public, said.

Credit Suisse could not immediately be reached for comment.

The Swiss bank unveiled measures this month to boost its capital base in response to criticism from the central bank, and also announced new cost cuts, including at the investment bank, although some analysts have called for even more radical steps.

Leading global investment banks have been cutting research staff in the Middle East to save costs amid tough global conditions and a dearth of work in the region.

In the past year, Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank have cut top equity research jobs while Japan's largest bank Nomura has shut down its research department, sources told Reuters.

Middle East private banking staffing is down about 30 percent in the last two years due to redundancies and relocating staff to other regions, the second source said.

In February, sources said HSBC was significantly scaling down its private banking operations in the Middle East. Europe's biggest lender moved its top private banker in the region to London.

The Middle East and Africa wealth management sector grew 8.6 percent in 2010 and overall assets under management could grow to $6.7 trillion by 2015 helped by high oil prices, a study by the Boston Consulting Group in June last year showed.

The region's private banking sector has several pure-play private banks like Julius Baer and Sarasin Alpen, competing with diversified banks such as, J.P. Morgan Chase and UBS .

So as toward perceive dreams and operate by them, inventive we need to perceive just a little bit regarding how the brain works.

The brain involves three basic degree, the limbic, which is accountable for.. well.. everything. It is a primary binary fraction. It both makes or does one thing, or it doesn?t. Like a pc, 1?s and 0?s. All a pc does, is add 1. It simply does it blindingly fast. And all these mathematical adding equations convert into e mail, video?s and Facebook. the limbic piece of the mind capabilities in much the identical mode. It creates a chemical that makes you afraid, or it doesn?t. It tells the physique to make one thing, or it doesn?t. very uncomplicated- sort of.

The realm of the mind we rely on the largely, especially in our western tradition, is the frontal piece. This is the element via motive and language. It?s the latest component of the human mind, in terms of progress. It?s the place all the chatter comes from, and the thinking.

These sections of the mind do not share a standard language. Just such a pc- we don?t ?speak? in binary. So an interface is important; an operating approach by aspect of which the 2 sides can communicate. On a computer, this is windows operating manner, or the Mac OS10, etc. Within the brain, it is the mid-division of the brain.

The mid-division is the area of goals and creativity. Our desires construct entire sense, as quickly as they?re happening. Within the dream we know the things things characterize and their goal within the dream. No less than mainly of the time. We?re completely afraid of the fluorescent purple penguin that offers you a cookie. It is logical in the context of the dream, we know why we are afraid, and what it represents. Not less than in the dream. Attempt explaining the dream toward someone and it will probably sound quite silly.

Not to mention how dreams appear to someone else, they can be much more bizarre toward us. We also wrestle by manner of them, attempting toward build meaning out of weird and surreal events. Generally we know exactly the issues goes on. Other times, not so much. It is because desires are drawing on symbols and meanings from out unconscious and the collective unconscious to which our rational brains don?t always get prepared access.

However there isn?t any mistaking how potent and highly effective goals are. The mere undeniable fact that with out dreaming we would go insane, actually, illustrates how important they?re toward our effectively-being. Goals are part of the mythic panorama of the mid-brain. This is where we function issues out. The dreaming area of the mind could use linear language and ideas, however doesn?t really and absolutely serve on rational linear or verbal language. The mid-brain responds to creativity, music, ritual and ceremony. The indigenous cultures comprehend this intuitively. In all their healing supply, ceremony, ritual and sacred drama play an integral role.

To sidetrack, our modern marriage ceremony ceremony is a perfect instance of a ritual. It could be effortless to receive someone say: okay, now you are married. Go house to your newer life. As an alternative, we build a really large extravaganza around this event. There?s the bridal bathe, the bachelor get together, the rehearsal and costumes, the ceremony, the reception and honeymoon. WOW- that?s numerous event. What this does, is make the heightened sense of the importance of the marriage. The issues it?s doing more than that, conversely, is the ritual that emphasises that an important transition is taking place. The two customers being married are intrinsically changed. They enter this ritual in a single emotional, energetic and authorized state. On the conclusion they don?t seem to be the same. One thing involves shifted and they?re now in an innumerable state on all levels.

This ritual incorporates and caters toward the wants of that mid-division of the brain. A change is affected, and additional empowered by incorporating parts that utilize the full brain.

So, now: back to dreams. Dreams are powerful know-how. This comprehension may be from your self and your unconscious. Or maybe it is from the invisible worlds, or the collective unconscious. No matter where desires originate, the know-how is being presented. So in one method or another it should own some deep cost used for us.

Try considering of your desires like one other person. (Not the schizophrenic form). Though as nonetheless somebody who doesn?t speak English, and is desperately attempting to talk something toward you. They might not even get a verbal language. Your goals are either enacting something so to re-awareness it and supply it out, or they are enacting something you possess NOT skilled and attempting out assorted possibilities and outcomes. It could be that your dreams are attempting toward give out a kind of preventative measure, as well. Working one thing out in a dream might help us to not want the know-how in real life.

Imagine you had a loss while you have been young. It?s unresolved. This may occasionally repeat in the patterns of your life. As long as we can resolve this unique loss by fashion of our dreams, then we cannot possess the necessity toward recreate the knowledge in our waking world. Pretty cool, actually.

Suppose you are not superb at remembering your dreams. Leisure strategies might help with that. Bear in mind, desires come from the identical area of the brain the place our creativity lives. So issues that help creativity must also assist through dreams. Construct a time each night used for ?playtime.? Draw, write a poem, pay attention toward music (music without words is probably better). Think of something that?s initial, playful, with out expectation, importance of goal. Try journal writing. Principally, you want toward work at decreasing stress in order that the first space of the mind, the interior baby, can stretch and play. Even some yoga or stretching might be beneficial.

Some medicinal herbs that can help via dreaming. Mugwort is one in all them, there are others- you can analysis on the internet. Nearly all of the herbs that help with dreaming, appear toward be meant for lowering stress- which is sensible, since dreaming is part of our creativity-associated mind: the non-linear logical area. You might try relaxation methods, a form of meditation, significantly before bed. Also, attempt retaining a dream journal- it actually does improve dream retrieval. I by no means used toward remember my goals, nonetheless while I commenced protecting a journal, and writing down my desires each morning? I started toward remember them by fashion of a lot better readability, and regularity: each morning I had 2-5 dreams. This additionally helped/helps in tracking the occasions going on and connecting dots. All in all, a very invaluable practice.

You may as well try among the theta mind wave CDs that assist the brain obtain that theta state of relaxation.
And do not stress over goals not being ?good?. Goals are knowledge from you, your higher self, and/ or the invisible world of helpers FOR you. The essential thing is to bring the message/ understanding the desires are conveying, and applying it. Like with any advisor/friend? uitilising the connection- improves the relationship.

Do you obtain the same dream repeatedly? are you aware it properly?

Pick the dream apart the system you might if you had been writing in relation to it/them. Actually, writing in relation to it/ them could also be beneficial. Begin by making a move chart on the wall, maybe and just write numerous aspects down. When you hit one method of the dream, the issues associations do you obtain? Are there prospects you realize within the dream? Are there messages within the dream? Look in favor of patterns and connections. Be able to step again from your writing or circulation chart or diagram meant for a number of hours or a day. Look at it by aspect of fresh eyes. Does anything stand out to you? Maybe ask a very good pal to simply check out a chart or diagram and see the things they see? Generally the comment or query from a contemporary set of eyes is a large benefit. Maybe have a dream accomplice where you reciprocate this offer. No judgment or incriminations- simply questions, thoughts and input.

Goals are messages and experience from out unconscious and/ or from the invisible realms. What is the purpose of the dream? Is the purpose just toward form you afraid? Are you supposed toward be afraid of something in specific?

The more we function by method of our goals, the extra accessible they become. Additionally, like information any language, we turn into more fluent. Over time we begin to recognise patterns and themes. There may also be recurring events in dreams, or we start toward acknowledge the symbols our dreams charge. Designed for example, possibly every time we?re shifting into a scary area of a panorama, a red chook exhibits up. As lengthy as we see it at what time, it may not stand out as anything significant. Conversely over time, we might even see the purple bird and then know its relevance. Then we have a greater experience within the dream. We?d see a purple hen, and select a numerous path, or arm ourselves by some form of safety. As in all issues, learning is the foremost toward being able to select extra wisely. It is merely a matter of learning how to tune in, hear, and fashion meaning. The magic and energy of the universe is continually unfolding round us, ready intended for us with love and patience. In this way, it is our mother or father, guiding our first steps into the huge unknown.

Windows Phone?s big July: Market share ticks up 23.5% in Europe

Attempting to track the success of Windows Phone is a difficult?endeavor, as Microsoft is determined to remain recalcitrant in regards to handsets sales for its mobile line. Nokia does release a figure quarterly, concerning the success of its Lumia line of?Windows?Phone?devices, but the platform remains hard to track.

Happily, services like StatCounter track mobile market share, so where we can?t compare official numbers, we can get a rough picture of the success of the various smartphone platforms. And, now that Windows Phone has moved enough units in its life to show up on the charts, we can track its growth.

In a report, WMPowerUser, a publication that tracks Microsoft?s mobile efforts closely, noted that in its most recently month, Windows Phone had a massive July, moving from 1.36% to 1.68%, a jump of roughly 23.5%. According to its analysis, the jump could be attributable to ?the release of the Nokia Lumia 610 and 900.?

The Lumia 610 is the lowest-tier handset of Nokia?s Windows Phone stable, while the Lumia 900 is arguably its halo device. The Lumia 800 is?similarly?high-end, if?physically?smaller.

Recently, Nokia cut the price of the Lumia 900 device by a large percentage. In the United States, it was reduced by half, from essentially $100 to $50, on a two-year contract. Rival phones can cost $200, and occasionally more, with a similar carrier agreement.

Of course, it?s easy to grow by large percentages when one?s market share remains limited. Windows Phone, however, does appear to have found a new gear. We?ll report next month on the next set of figures. Fluke or trend, we shall determine.

Qatari girl scared by Games bow

Table tennis player Aia Mohamed joined shooter Bahia Al Hamad as one of the first Qatari women to compete in an Olympic Games but admitted she was frightened by her history-making bow.

Aia lost a preliminary round match by 11-3, 11-7, 11-6, 11-3 to Zhang Mo of Canada, a China-born former world top 100 player.

"I was really afraid. I didn't know how to play," Aia admitted.

Whether her performance was affected by her late night after the opening ceremony was something about which she would not be drawn.

"I wasn't expecting to be at the parade of nations and I was very proud to be there. I saw the rest (of the evening's ceremony) on TV and I thought it was really nice."

She also maintained a suitably positive attitude about what she will take from the defeat.

"I'm feeling good. I've learnt a lot," she said. "It was a huge game so it is normal to be afraid but I will keep practising hard for the future."

Aia Mohamed and Al Hamda, who was defeated in the air rifle shooting event, are not the only women competing for Qatar at the Olympics.

Sprinter Noor Al-Malki and swimmer Nada Arakji will also represent the small but wealthy Gulf nation.

The Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee named two women, judo competitor Wodjan Shaherkhani and runner Sarah Attar, to represent their nation in London.

But Shaherkhani's place in the tournament is in danger after she was told she cannot wear the Islamic hijab headscarf when she fights as it contravenes competition rules.

Assad has many generals to fight Syrian rebels

Syrian President Bashar Assad?s regime received last week the worst blow since the country?s crisis began 17 months ago in what many thought would quickly bring the Assad family four-decade dynasty to an end but the government appears to have absorbed the shock of the explosion that killed four top security officials and it's on the offensive again. FILE - In this file photo released by the Syrian official news agency SANA on July 19, 2012, Syrian President Bashar Assad, left, meets with Fahd Jassem al-Freij, Syria's new Defense Minister, in Damascus, Syria. (AP Photo/SANA, File)

(AP) ? The Syrian regime appears to have absorbed the shock it suffered in the heaviest blow against it yet in Syria's 17-month-old upheaval ? a bombing that killed four top aides.

The blast raised opponents' hopes President Bashar Assad could fall soon. Instead he is back on the offensive and has reshuffled his inner circle of loyalists to brace for a long battle in what has become an outright civil war.

Although the president is embattled, he remains surrounded by loyal generals, many who are inextricably tied to the regime and have played a key role in the brutal crackdown against the opposition.

He has already made some progress on the ground. A counter-offensive by the government is gaining momentum and troops have so far been able to recapture neighborhoods in the capital Damascus that rebels overran earlier this month. The government also launched an offensive in the northern city of Aleppo, Syria's largest, where rebels have taken over several areas.

Regime forces have stepped up the use of force. Helicopter gunships have been used more than ever before in the battles with rebels in Damascus and Aleppo. Also this week, warplanes flew over Aleppo, although it was not possible to confirm claims by activists that the fighter jets actually fired on rebels ? which would be a first since the uprising against Assad began in March 2011.

A Syrian who fled to Lebanon this week said the regime forces' attacks have intensified.

"Whenever they suspect there is an area where there are (rebel) gunmen, they destroy it," said the man who identified himself as Fawaz and said he had come from the southern province of Daraa, where the uprising began.

Still, the past weeks have shown that the rebels ? a mix of army defectors and regime opponents who have taken up arms ? are getting more experienced and sophisticated. That points to Syria's conflict, which anti-regime activists say has already left 19,000 dead, getting even bloodier as both sides try to finish the other by force.

"Syria will get much worse before it gets any better. Assad might fall but he will do his darndest to leave behind a burned down country," said Bilal Saab, a Syria expert at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. "There will be tactical advances and retreats by both, but time and momentum seems to be on the rebels' side."

Assad has suffered a series of setbacks over the past weeks. On July 18, rebels detonated a bomb inside a high-level crisis meeting in Damascus that killed the defense minister, the head of the National Security Bureau, Assad's brother-in-law and a former defense minister ? some of Assad's most trusted officers.

At the same time, the rebel Free Syrian Army was waging its most brazen offensive yet in Damascus, taking over several neighborhoods and sparking the heaviest and most sustained battles in the capital. They also rose up in Aleppo, which throughout the conflict has been a pillar of support for Assad's regime and has seen little opposition activity. The rebels took at least four border points with Turkey and Iraq.

Moreover, one of his confidants and longtime friends, Brig. Gen. Manaf Tlass, defected and said Thursday he will work to unite the opposition against the regime. Several diplomats also defected, including the ambassador to Iraq and the former envoy to the United Arab Emirates.

But the regime is bouncing back. It took several days, but troops took back control in Damascus. Regime forces have been battling rebels in Aleppo for days.

On the day of the bombing, the regime made clear it would strike back hard. Information Minister Omran al-Zoebi appeared on state TV and warned that the state had not even begun to use its full firepower yet, adding that "92 percent of our forces are still in their barracks."

Despite the losses from the bombing, the president is still surrounded by loyal generals who will continue the crackdown. His innermost circle is made up of the heads of the four powerful intelligence agencies, which keep a pervasive hold on the country, and his younger brother, Maher, who commands the elite 4th Division as well as the Republican Guards in charge of protecting the capital.

On Tuesday, Assad carried out a reshuffle that further tightened his core of loyalists.

In the most significant move, he activated the national security council, a body officially created two years ago but dormant since. The council's role is to coordinate between the four intelligence agencies and compile information from them, presumably to make them more cohesive in fighting the rebellion.

To head the council, Assad promoted the chief of his general intelligence directorate, Maj. Gen. Ali Mamlouk. Already one of the regime's most important figures, Mamlouk's new role gives him even more influence.

Notably, he is a Sunni, one of the few in the top leadership dominated by members of Assad's minority Alawite sect. Sunnis have formed the backbone of the uprising against Assad and a number of Sunni army generals have defected to the rebellion. But the promotion signals Assad's deep trust of Mamlouk, whose longtime insider status and role in fighting the opposition the past 17 months inextricably tie him to the regime.

The head of military intelligence, Maj. Gen. Abdel-Fattah Qudsiyeh, was made the security council's deputy head. A senior military intelligence general was elevated to take his place.

The head of another of the four intelligence agencies, the Political Security Department ? Maj. Gen. Deeb Zeitoun, also a Sunni ? was moved over to lead the General Intelligence Directorate, replacing Mamlouk.

To fill in Zeitoun's now empty position, Assad brought in loyalist Maj. Gen. Rostom Ghazali from his job as security chief for the Damascus suburbs, which has been a battleground with rebels for months. Previously, as Syria's intelligence chief in Lebanon, Ghazali was a key enforcer of Syria's then-direct domination over its smaller neighbor, which lasted for 29 years until 2005.

The head of the fourth intelligence agency, air force intelligence chief Maj. Gen. Jamil Hassan, apparently remained in his post.

Hilal Khashan, a political science professor at the American University of Beirut, said the reshuffle is "part of the regime's build-up."

"Either Syria with himself as a leader or no Syria: He is going to the end in this direction," Khashan said. "Those around Assad today are those who linked their fate to him. They either go up or down with him."
